Hangao​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌ has developed a three-cathode welding system with dual electromagnetic control to enhance production line efficiency and get good weld quality. The three welding torches are arranged one after another in a line. With the first torch, which is equipped with electromagnetic control, the oil and burrs on the edges of the plates are cleaned; the second torch preheats; and the third torch, with electromagnetic control, focuses the arc to weld deeply with a small current. This welding method greatly increases the welding speed and quality, and at the same time, the most common defects like undercut and hysteresis are ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌drastically reduced.

Three-Cathode Welding System

Components:

Several‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ parts make up the system; these are a 3D welding torch adjustment, a 4-roll squeeze device, a weld boot, a three-cathode welding system, and an electromagnetic control ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌system.

Primary Function:

Essentially,‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ the device is designed to round and size the pre-rolled tube blank that has already turned into a closed circle; at the same time, it keeps the dimensions unchanged before the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌compression.

Squeeze Device and Weld Boot:

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ initial set of squeeze rollers is used in the production line downstream of the tube forming to help reduce the wear of the tube blank and ensure that it smoothly enters the weld boot for welding. At the same time, after the welding is completed, a second set of squeeze rollers is used to fix the tube and prevent any ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌deformation.

The welding box is the most crucial component of a welded pipe production line. The quality of the weld is the determining factor of the product quality. There are mainly two factors that affect the quality of the weld: the accuracy of the welding roller runout and the influence of heat radiation and conduction during welding on the roller accuracy.

Insulated Bright Annealing

Three-Cathode welded industrial stainless steel tubes require solution annealing with accurately controlled holding and cooling after gas & oil welding at high speed. The main heat treatment consists of raising the temperature of the tube from room temperature to 1050°C, holding it at 1050°C for a certain time, and then cooling it down with gas & oil. The treatment makes the steel microstructure fully homogeneous, and the internal stresses are mostly relieved, thus the material becomes stable, and its properties, good for tube performance, are ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌enhanced.‌‍‍
